Given the benefit of the doubt, and assuming that the leaders blundered on the Iraq operation, then refusing to support the operation with all the manpower and equipment necessary to the speedy and decisive success of the mission is NOT leadership and it is NOT supporting the troops. Leadership and support is not accomplished by "losing" and then whining about the American people's refusal to wave pom-pom's. It is not accomplished by "inventing" the mission in retrospect; by making up excuses to continue the financially unsupported and financially unsupportable occupation. The leaders must insure the overwhelming force necessary to success and not cut VA benefits. They must offer something similar to the GI bill that provides health care, low interest loans for housing, and free college tuition or no interest loans for education for all troops serving the Republican's personal and political war of occupation. The people cannot "support the occupation" because it is based on a lie. And the lack of support from the people is due to the lack of support and lack of leadership by the Bush Administration. It is due to his larcenous tax cuts while pretending to be at war. Only a lying thieving Republican cuts taxes while supposedly being "at war".
